Stay safe and then check to see if anyone is injured
If you’re able to, the first thing to do is to move your car off the road and to stay safe. If you are not badly injured yourself, the next thing to do is to check on anyone else involved in the accident and make sure they are okay. If anyone has been hurt, call an ambulance and/or the police on 000 immediately.
Exchange details with other drivers and any witnesses
To make your life easier when it comes time to dealing with insurance companies, it’s crucial that you exchange details with other drivers involved in the accident and any witnesses; a photo of their driver’s licence, their contact details, and their insurance information including which insurance company and what level of cover they have is what you will need.
